CV:

1972:

Matriculate at Carel de Wet Technical High School.

1973:

Obtained a bursary from Iscor to study Civil Engineering.

1976:

Obtained the degree BSc Eng (Civil) from the University of Pretoria.

1977:

Did compulsory military service in the SADF's corps of Engineers.

1979:

Appointed as Engineer-in-training, Civil Engineering. Iscor Vanderbijlpark.

1980:

Seconded to a Consulting Engineers firm (George Biakoff Inc) for design experience.

1981:

Work as a Construction Controller on a construction site.

1982:

Appointed as Project Engineer, Civil Projects. Main function Project Management.

1982:

Register as a professional engineer with ECSA.

1983:

Obtain a Diploma in Datametrics (Computer Science) from UNISA Cum Laude.

1987:

Obtain a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Potchefstroom University.

1993:

Appointed as Head, Design and Structural Standards. During the same year integrate the post with that of Manager, Civil Drawing Office and in 1992 incorporate the Layout, Piping and Structural Drawing Offices as well.

1995:

Seconded as Area Manager, Facilities Management.

1997:

As Area Manager, Management Services I was responsible for the planning of all Capital Extension Projects, Computer Aided Draughting and Drawing Management, Contract Procurement and Administration.

1998:

In March 1998 joined voluntary the restructing of Iscor team with Consultants McKinsey.

1999:

In August 1999 gets appointed as Principal Engineer Civil Engineering and were responsible for the project management of all Civil Projects at Iscor Flat Steel Products (Annually R80m). At the end 2001, following a restructuring, the section was integrated into Project Management.

2002:

Appointed as Senior Engineer, Capital Management, Finance.

2003:

Appointed as Manager, Design and Draughting Services. Project Engineering. Responsible for all Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Piping and Layout drawings for the Vanderbijlpark steel as well as the drawing administration (1 000000 drawings) system which includes the implementation of the SAP system for drawings. The drawing reproduction section also falls under my jurisdiction.

2008:

Resigned from Arcelor Mittal to explore new horizons at Bateman Engineered Technologies as Manager Civil and Structural Engineering. Responsible for design of steel structures mainly for the mining sector.
